Since January it hasn’t rained properly in Spain and Portugal causing a concerning drought in the entire peninsula. Fortunately, we are able to irrigate parts of our olive groves thanks to the irrigation system we installed in 2005. Thus, the yield of the harvest 2012/2013 can still mostly be saved. On the picture below you can see the unusually dry olive grove.

Both of our olive oils which took part at BioFach’s Olive Oil Prize were voted to the medalists’ podium by the trade visitors. The newly presented product RISCA GRANDE PREMIUM won the 2nd prize, followed by RISCA GRANDE CLASSIC Demeter on the 3rd place. With these awards, the visitors of BioFach confirmed the outstanding quality of our products. This is even more remarkable since RISCA GRANDE PREMIUM and CLASSIC Demeter had to win out over 80 other organically produced olive oils from all over the world. Thereby RISCA GRANDE’s olive oils were in the Top 10 four times in the last five years.

It has almost become a tradition of RISCA GRANDE to exhibit at the BioFach in Nuremberg. This year we are going to present our newest product RISCA GRANDE PREMIUM. This high quality olive oil is a blend of our best oils. RISCA GRANDE PREMIUM with medium spiciness has a very ample and complex aroma with notes of thyme and rosemary.

Today we got the certificate of the Flos Olei prize which RISCA GRANDE won in November 2010 for the best organic olive oil.

Once again RISCA GRANDE will be at the Organic Trade Fair "BioFach" in Nuremberg, Germany. You are welcome to visit our Stand 201 from the 16th to the 19th of February 2011 in the Hall 4A.

With the help of our excellent harvesting team and the good weather the harvest ended earlier this year. On the 16th of December we finished this successful crop.

Every year the olive oil expert Marco Oreggia and his team of experts taste hundreds of olive oils from more then 42 countries all over the world. They publish the best olive oils in a Guide called “Flos Olei - a guide to the world best extra virgin olive oils”. The farm RISCA GRANDE is listed in the Flos Olei guide since 2009 and received this year one of the 20 awards, Marco Oreggia's rewards to the best olive oil farms. The “Best 20” are not only awarded based on the quality of the farms' olive oil, but mainly on the quality each farm has shown over the years and the value it represents for its area of production. The farm RISCA GRANDE got the award for “The Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Organic Farming”.

Recently the whole Team of RISCA GRANDE has been busy with preparations and the maintenance of the harvesting and olive oil machinery. On October 26th finally the harvest starts! A moment we worked for the whole year.
This year the harvest starts off at the end of October, because some olive varieties are already ripe.

Our new product RISCA GRANDE BASILICUM is now available. But the number of bottles is very limited at the moment.

The label design of the RISCA GRANDE BASILICUM is now finished. This olive oil will be available exclusively as demeter, from the end of September.

Our new product RISCA GRANDE BASILICUM (basil) will be launched by the end of summer. The "BASILICUM" is thought for pasta and salads.
